I am just this week getting this done, only due to a helpful peron
locally who was able to get Apple to do it as a favor. The upgrade offer
officially expired & they are under no obligation to do it. Noone but
Apple is likely to have the board sitting around (I'm surprised they do!)
so the dealer can't do much (& why should they for free?) unless Apple
provides the upgrade to them. In my case, the local tech told me Apple
wanted to know what he was going to charge me; when told a decent figure,
I guess they were happy _someone_ was making money on it, so they agreed.
NAturally, I'm quite pleased; I just hope no one involved reads this
before I get the machine back! :-)
