According to the manual I have here (but no card), DIP switch 1
controls the transmission of bit 7.  If it is ON, then bit 7 is "not
transmitted to the printer" (which probably means that it is forced to
0).  If this switch is OFF, bit 7 is passed unchanged.

The other three switches select the printer type (presumably for
specifying the graphics command set).  They would only be relevant
when using the Grappler's built-in graphics support (e.g. for screen
dumps).
