Apple II versions were written in Pascal..  The copy protects were based
on that, as far as I know.
 
I DO know in KOD you can have as many as *6* sets of the armor for a totally
ass kicking assault on anything you come across...  I use 3 sets and can
nuke nearly anyone in one or two rounds..  Great for exploring and finding
out what ALL of the items in the databse are.
 
All you need to do is a little creative character swapping & resurrecting.
Takes two scenario disks and about half an hour or so  :>
