65816s... inexpensively

Many months ago someone I was talking to in mail said that they saw an ad
for "16 bit variants of 6502 with up to 16MHz available". I e-mailed
WDC and they didn't really answer my question (whether it was actually
referring to the 65816 or 65802).. But I did get the following info....
WDC sez:
>The Western Design Center currently has the W65C816SPL-14 available for use in
>Zip and Transwarp cards. We do not advertise this as Apple users are not our
>main customers for these parts. We do sell these chips for $19.80 each plus
>$4.00 shipping and handling. We do not wish to advertise this to all Apple
>users as the man hours spent shipping these chips does not make it profitable
>for us. This offer may be eliminated at any time.
>If you are interested in obtaining one of these chips send a money order in
>advance with a note requesting the W65C816SPL-14.
WDC is wdesignc@indirect.com.
Because of what they say, it may be good if a bunch of people mass order
them and then distribute them.. This is just much cheaper than the $9x I
thought they cost.
BTW, I don't even have a Zip or Transwarp, I am/was just curious about these
16 MHz parts, as it's faster than the 14 I knew were already available.
