Assuming you are talking about Appleworks on an Apple II Something....
Select Other Activities on the main menu.
Select standard settings for Appleworks.
Select Specify information about your printer(s)
Select Change printer specifications (for the appropriate printer if you
have more than one specified).
Select Interface Cards
It probably says Control-I80N.
Select NO
Now it will say None
Hit Open Apple-Return
Escape all the way to the main menu.
If it now works, great. If not, do this all over again, down to the
point where it says NONE.
Then, hold down the control key and press I, let go, press 0 (zero, not
Letter O), press shift N (capital N). (Code now reads: Control I 0N)
Hit Open Apple-Return
Escape all the way to the main menu.
This is what works on my Panasonic Printer & many others, never had an
Imagewriter.
