There are actually other files as well. The delay of System 6.0.1 was to
remove all references and scripts. The Network cdev has a dialog much like
the Mac has to choose either Built in LocalTalk or EtherTalk. There is also
an ETALK driver.

The card also loads a CDA in which you can choose the type of AppleTalk
connection as well. So loading GS/OS isn't needed to choose. But to use
network services other than booting off the card you must have the ETalk
driver.

The d15 release of 6.0.1 was the last beta release and also the last disk
set to feature the Ethertalk installer scripts. No routines were removed from
within the core of GS/OS itself.

Thats why doing a driver for a SCSI <--> Ethernet bridge wouldn't be that bad
with an understanding of the internals of 6.0.1 and a good AppleTalk
reference.

It really is an incredible piece of work from those at Apple who busted
their butts to get it ready on time, only to be told it's canned after it
went golden. It was also the second shot at it, the first design was thrown
out and started over. Too messy to be salvaged.
