I have just acquired a LaserWriter + printer and began playing around with
it last night.  I tried to communicate with it through the serial port on
the printer but when I try to print to it from my ROM3 GS it says the
direct connect to LaserWriter not supported.  Is there a patch or
something I can get so that I can print to the LaserWriter + without
resorting to AppleTalk?

The printer works fine if I use Appletalk.  I just hate the warnings I get
when I am not using appletalk when I boot up and am connected to my HP
Deskwriter.
