Font madness!

The person who designed the GS/OS font "Shaston" ought to be taken out and
shot.

Am I the only person who has noticed that the characters of the "Shaston-9"
character set are...

a) The easiest to read on the GS/OS text windows
b) All characters are monospaced (i.e. great for doing stuff
which is to be uploaded to a 24 x 80 terminal screen)
c) has narrow SPACES?

Why is it that Monaco (ugly and hard to read) is the only font on the
GS/OS system disk which is true monospace...that is, the characters and
spaces are all the same size?

Does there exist a truly monospaced version of Shaston?

I have a really nice GS/OS text editor that I like to use for creating
USENET messages and email messages, and it's frustrating when I try to
create tables and such to have to use Monaco. Especially since I have to
use Monaco-12 to get an 80-column display, and that's only about twelve
lines (instead of 24) in the window 8-(
