I like one over the other depending on access speed and the computer I'm
using. If I'm using my //c with a 2400 baud modem, I like text (and
dislike even ANSI). On the other hand, when I'm on an SGI Indy running
Netscape 1.1 through ethernet, heck, I love it! I don't have the cash to
blow on online services, so I resort to a local free UNIX bbs for my
modeming. I've never been too impressed by any of the commercial online
services' interfaces, and the initial learning curve delay of yet another
CLI has never endeared me to them.
