First be sure the IIc is capable of baud rates over 300 baud. Hold
down both Apple keys and turn on the power switch. If you get the
built-in system test you should be ok using a 2400 baud modem. If
not, you might want to get a free motherboard upgrade from your Apple
dealer.
You can get a modem cable to go from your IIc (DIN 5) to a Hayes type
modem (RS 232) from Atlaz Computer Supply, 516/239-1854. Ask for stock
#268 ($12).
