Record for gs battery life?

Back when I was in high school, my parents bought me a //gs.  I've since moved 
from the Apple arena, but my parents are still diligently plugging away and 
are very happy with the //gs.  Man I miss it sometimes.

But when I was home for Easter and playing around on the gs, I realized 
something.  It still has the original battery in it, and it still works like a 
charm.  That battery has got to be 9 and a half years old!  Is this some kind 
of record?

Since I've now probably killed the battery just by posting this message, I'll 
ask my real question.  Where can I get a replacement battery for the gs?  To 
be honest, I really don't know anything about the gs accessories market these 
days, and I don't really know if those batteries are still available.

Thanks any answers, and after reading all of the articles in this group,  I 
wonder if I can scam that //gs off my parents ...
