because no communications program worth its salt pays any attention to the
control panel settings. They write directly to the firmware, which can
handle up to hmmm... 2.3mbs? Localtalk speeds, anyway.
There are probably other limitations tht bring it down, but I regularly
get 57.6 spees out of my ports
