More dumb L128 Ques: Color Monitor?

My Laser 128 has an old Sentrek monochrome monitor, but I notice that the
computer has a mono-color switch.

If I buy a used color monitor, can I throw this switch and have something
that resembles my Mac when I run appleworks?  I wouldn't mind have black
letters on a multi-color background, and ofcourse the ability to display
color pictures.

Again, I'm not into big money on a low-tech machine.  But what are my
low-cost options to max out this system optically.
