Re: Genie...is it worth it?
I find GEnie and the A2 RoundTable there worth the minimum $8.95 a month
for four hours of connect time at 2400 baud.

Maybe this is just sematics, but the A2 Forum is divided by 'Categories'
and 'Topics'. Categories are broad areas like "Operating System Software"
or "Volumes and Files" and topics are the sub-issues within a category.
"ICONs" and "System 6.0/6.0.1- Installation" are topics within the
"Operating System Software" category.
An entire category can be set to read or cancel and topic areas within a
category can be read or ignored. So, if there are 20 topics within a
category, and only two are of interest, only those two need be read.
With the choices I have made as to what categories/topics I want to read
(meaning download), a normal days download is in the neighborhood of 6-7
minutes. I am not sure that I would save a lot of time if I could select
what threads within a topic I wanted to read. And if I could make such a
selection, I would actually have to be at my computer when downloading
rather than preparing dinner or sleeping.
