Re: Genie, Virii, and Beagle Bros. (was Re: Genie...is it worth it?)

If anyone out there is thinking of signing up for GEnie, they should go
for it! (Just to use a free month, and download as much software as
they can... Thats what I did...)

Use this offer number: ZZZ555. If you type in "ZZZ555" when it asks you
for the offer code, you get $150 unstead of a $50 1st month credit.
$150 gives you 75 hours of downloading at 2400 baud at their new $2 an
hour rate... definately worth signing up for that free month trial...

I'm no longer on GEnie, and I don't know if they've changed pricing, or
services, etc., and I also can't guarantee that offer code still works.
It worked as of January when I signed up, and it worked as of last
month, when a friend of mine signed up... My guess is they rarely
change them, because they want new people to keep signing up...

You can download at higher than 2400 baud in some areas. Here in St.
Louis, I could access GEnie at 9600 baud for $5 an hour unstead of $2
an hour, making it an even better deal for me...

Hope I could help...

P.S. I'm not really recommending GEnie though... It had very few good
points... plus, it has a $9 an hour surcharge during the day... I mean,
things like that are just ridiculous... Also, their customer service
was HORRIBLE, leaving me on hold for over 20 minutes! Anybody know
about the quality or the existance of any Apple II libraries on
Compuserve? CIS in general seems to be a pretty good service...
