Of course there are always trade-offs, but thermally cycling your
IIc by turning it on and off probably does a heck of a lot more 
damage than letting it come up to temperature and just letting it
run. I've left my IIc+ with a flat screen on for days while it
crunched a really tough problem (turn the contrast down on the
screen). We've got GS's in the lab that use Flash Boot RAM disks
instead of hard drives that haven't been turned off in years. We
just turn the monitors off when we're not using them. heh, heh,
we're looking forward to getting TW-II for them though :)
