I didn't catch the original message, but there is a self test on the Apple
//c. Hold down the Apple (not open-apple) key and press control reset.
This will throw it into a self test and semi-random patterns will be seen
on the screen. After it is through testing it could do several things
depending on the ROM rev you have. The later //c's that could handle the
3.5" drives would put something about "AppleTalk Online" or something like
that. Earlier ones just said
"System OK"
If it is a RAM problem it should give the location.
ps. It's been a while since I had a //c, the key sequence might be both
open-apple and apple keys and control-reset.
