Where exactly are you copying the icon at?  If you are copying the icon
out of the icon list, the mask should copy correctly.  However, if you are
copying the icon out of the icon EDITOR window, then, yeah, the mask will
be solid black when you paste it.  This is because when you copy from the
icon editor window, ICE creates a picture of the icon image, so there
really isn't a mask for it to copy, so it defaults to solid black.

As for the other problem... sorry, but ICE has to check a files resource
fork to determine if it contains rIcons or not.  There's no way to get
around that in this version.
