Re: Simple IIGS-Mac network - boy i feel stupid

Hi Henrik!
Jeesh, I recently AppleTalked two PowerBooks together to
scavenge the files off of a hardrive on a PB whose floppy died, and
I've been tinkering with AppleTalking my GS to the PB-145. It sounds
like you're on the right track. On the PB Sharing Setup control panel
I set up the owner name, password, and system name, set file sharing on
and program linking on. Connected the PB & GS to each other through
their printer ports using an IW-II cable. Installed AppleShare on
my IIGS, set slot 7 to AppleTalk and slot 1 to Your Card (there was
no AppleTalk selection for slot 1), set AppleTalk Active on my PB's
Chooser, and rebooted everything, PB first then GS. When my GS came
up I had to select the PB from the AppleShare control panel and
logon to the PB. Voila! Six jumps and a flaming hoop I was using my
PB's hard drive. I created a folder called GS Hard Drive (I also
had the HFS FST installed on my GS). So now my GS which is running
off of a RAM Disk has at least one HFS hard drive to store stuff
on. Now I just gotta figure out how to do this through the PB's
modem port so I can get my PB back on the network :\
