There's nothing wrong with grind. I've heard that
someone may publish a copy of grind on CD. If so,
I'd probably buy it.

I'm speculating that the 'new' site would be
different, not 'better' for the following:

1. It would be a site intended to be made
into a CD from the start, and organized
as such.

2. Its files would be uncompressed.

3. Someone (Digisoft) would perform active
maintenance toward building a for sale CD, as
opposed to the limited time available to most
unpaid ftp site maintainers who despite the
best of intentions don't always have the time
to check inside every upload.

4. If authors _know_ that the site will be made
into a CD they may be more interested in uploading
the most recent or improved versions of their
stuff, maybe even with some docs to attach their
name to.

5. Other reasons that escape me at the moment...

If these aren't true, then there's no imperative
to having another site.

I hope grind survives for a long time. It will
always be more up-to-date than a CD. Grind could
serve the same purpose as the 'new' site if the
grind admin wanted.
