The 800k drive is the same drive Apple used in the last Mac Plus's and
Early SE's. (Apple P/N: 661-0305 or 661-0345)
The Controller board in the drive itself is for the smarts to work with
the older //e 3.5 Unidisk interface board and the Apple //c.
Since the drive Mech's are the same, you can test the drive out on any Mac
(well, I haven't tried an 800k drive assy on anything built since the
Quadra 950). If you have a IIgs 3.5" drive, you can swap mech's to see
if the drive itself is the problem.
