I've been totally unable to mount a ProDOS hard disk to my mac.. stupid
driver seems to require that *&$^&(^#(&  HFS format.  

If you have a friend with a IIGS, you might try hanging the hard disk off
it, and use Localtalk to move the files to the mac, then hang the drive on
the mac and use something like FWB utilities to format it (last I tried,
the standard Apple HD Setup would not work), then put the files back on
it..

cumbersome, but it should work..  I ended up leaving my second hard drive
on the IIGS and using it as a place to back up essential Mac data...
