weird Shrinkit bug

OK here's my hardware first:

IIgs ROM 3

slot 1: appletalk
slot 2: modem
slot 3: 80 col
slot 4: mouse
slot 5: 1 mb slinky card
slot 6: superdrive card
slot 7: HS SCSI
mem exp: 4 mb memory card

I was trying to use Shrinkit 3.4 to unarchive some 5.25 disks. I connected a
5.25 to the drive port and switched slot 6 from the superdrive card to the
5.25 drive port. Since the files were on an HFS volume on my hard disk and
my 3.5s were inaccessible, I copied the files to the RAM disk residing on the
slinky card. Then I ran Shrinkit and unarchived some files. When I quit back
to my program selector, I discovered that the archives had vanished off the
RAM disk. I tried the same thing several times with the same result. I put
the files on a server volume and then found that they remained after quitting
Shrinkit. Now why in the world would Shrinkit nuke the files on the RAM disk?
