As long as you've still got the Apple II (which you seem to
indicate that you do), and can run Appleworks, it's pretty trivial to
convert them to Ascii text format. Just load the file, and hit
Open-Apple-P (for Print). One of the printer options will be to print
to an ascii file on disk; select that, and it'll be saved as an ascii
file. Then, uploading that to a PC thru a modem is pretty trivial;
just remember that PC's have the crazy CRLF stuff at the end of a
line, so uploading them in ascii mode (not binary) will help a lot.
