Hey Chuck,
The answer to your question is probably not what you want to hear.
With ROM 01 machines, Slot 7 must be set to 'AppleTalk' in the control
panel. This will disable slot 7, and thus the innerdrive won't work.
My suggestion is to move the Innerdrive to slot 6 if you don't have
anything in it. I find I rarely use any 5.25" disks, and if I do, they
are Apple ][ games that self boot, and thus a hard drive wouldn't need
to be used at the same time as the 5.25" drives.
The other alternative is to get a ROM 3 machine that will let you set
slot 1 or 2 to AppleTalk, thus solving your problem.
