Aloha,
I have an AppleIIe (1984) with a strange keyboard problem. I've tried
swapping keyboards, cables, and the chip marked keyboard ROM (?), all
to no avail. Some of the keys work, others give me completely
different characters. For example, the #s 1-7 work, 8 give me
ControlE, 9/( gives 1/!, =/+ gives /?; q=3,w=4,e=6,r=5, t works OK,
y=7, and so on.
Does anyone recognize this problem and have a solution? Or is my IIe
just possessed :-)? I've run the closed-apple/control/reset check, and
it says "System OK." I can't run my keyboard test program, because I
need to access the number 8, which doesn't work.
I can take responses at my e-mail address. Thanks in advance.
