It was created illegally - it didn't go through the standard voting
procedure for the "big seven" news hierarchies (comp, misc, news, rec,
sci, soc, talk), so it is only carried by a small number of scattered
sites.  It should be regarded as a bogus newsgroup and ignored.
Ideally, it should be deleted from all sites.

It has been around since before I started using the net (1992 or earlier).

The group for discussing GNO-related issues is comp.sys.apple2.gno.
