Re: Partiton limit on ProLine? No such thing!

Hi Jesse!
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, I really like ProLine,
but the XModem file transfer is disappointing and the single partition
limitation a killer for setting up a large BBS. I plan on keeping my
ProLine BBS, but for our user group I'm looking at setting up a
FutureVision BBS instead. As for the partition limit on ProLine there
may be a odd workaround. When I set up my file library I created
a section called The Mail Room with the idea this would be an area
users could use to send files to each other and I'd let files stay
there for a week or so. One thing I though of was keeping most of
my file library off on other partitions and post a complete catalog
of available files. If a users wanted a file that was off-line they
would request it from the sysop who could then move it into the
Mail Room. There's a really simple copy command in the Utility
menu so it wouldn;t be a big burden for the Sysop. Actually, it
fits in with the Library motif of ProLine, the offline library
would be akin to ordering books from the main library and having
them delivered to your local branch where you can pick them up.

Have fun!
