Yes. Often.

The way it was is the way it is. Welcome to IRC. If you go to an
Apple II user group meeting, do you ever say "Hey Bill, how's the wife
and 5 kids?" or do you strictly talk about computers? Also, a user
group meets once a week/month, while we're often on irc daily. It's
sometimes fun to talk about other stuff. If you ask a question
and we're in the mood to answer it, we will.  We're not paid to help;
it's just a horrible habit we have :) Once you get to know the crowd,
your questions will receive faster answers. I once was freaking out
when my Zip cable wasn't firmly seated on the motherboard...everything
worked except GS/OS and anything that used the modem port. Thank
you #appleiigs!!!

Hey now, I've always tried to welcome newbies :P Seriously folks,
