Not entirely true. I have a GS in front of me with 2 disk IIs attached
through the Smart Port (hooked to the back of an Apple 3.5).
The down side is that you have to make a special cable to do it. One
end fits the 3.5s piggy back port (or the smartport on the GS), the
other end goes to a little board that has pinouts like on the disk][
controller card for the 20pin flat connectors on the disk][ cables. I
bought one from a member of the Washington Apple Pi. He said it cost
him about $15 to build (4 years ago). I think he sent me the pinout
specifics, but I don't know if I still have the docs. Perhaps the
Washington Apple Pi (or one of their back Journals) has this in it.
