FAXination Success Story!!!

Well, I finally downloaded the update from the Vitesse BBS and gave it a try.
This was last night, so it was the latest update. When I did an info in
the finder on the NDA, it said version 0.14. Maybe it should have been 1.04,
but what the heck, it actually worked!

I didn't try sending a FAX yet, but receive worked fine.

I received two FAXes. One 3 page from NEC's Fast FAX, and a 7 page one from
Apple's FAX service. I was able to print and view the FAXes. They
printed copy was tough to read, and things blurred together a lot, but this
must be due to the ImageWriter II printer. The FAX was at 200 DPI, and when
viewed on the GS 640x200 screen, it was very readable. Even very fine print
that was nothing more than small sqares on the print-out were pretty clear
on screen. Of course when the FAX was viewed on the GS screen, a lot of
scrolling was required to read a page, thus making printing out the FAX
almost necessary for most uses.

I'd like to hear from other FAXination users that have a printer with a
higher resolution (like a laser printer or ink jet) to evaluate the print
quality.

The program did just randomly crash into the monitor when I enabled the
auto receive feature, and it crashed after receiving the NEC fax, but it did
receive it fine.

I'll be trying the send feature soon, but it sounds like folks here have had
success with that already.

There is still work to do, but we can send and receive FAXes now!
