   Apple IIs never made it past 140K 5.25" drives in general use. With
a GS, you'll find that you're probably going to really want to buy
or borrow a 800K 3.5" drive. Too damn many things require an 800K disk
to unpack to, not least of which is the System Software...

   For most normal stuff, just fine. If this is a Rom 01, you most
likely won't be able to use DMA at all (there's one 8MB DMA-able card
out there, but that's it, I believe) with 5MB of addon memory. With a
Rom 03, you can have 5 MB fine, split between the 1MB on the
motherboard and 4MB on a card.
