The modifications weren't only for the Duo to be used on a GS. There were
also recommended for use on the //e. But my local dealer suggested that
unless I have problems with the drive. Don't fix it. I think the
problems only showed when reading certain type of copy protection schemes?
I never had mine upgraded (resistors snipped) and it's working fine on the
//e still. I never put it on the GS, but I'm sure it would work fine. It
certainly won't hurt to try it out.
