Nope, that will not do it since I already have that set up and still get
many speed detect failures.  I've heard the code does the speed checking
using the vertcnt video counters and because this unreliable (I can get a
accelerated speed detect at 1 mhz) and the suggested fix is to turn counter
delay on.

IMO, the speed detect should be rewritten to be more intelligent.
