Help with IIGS

My friend who manages a self storage place was given a relatively new IIGS
with color monitor, keyboard, a 3.5" & 5" external floppy drives, and a
ImagewriterII printer.

My question is how to get the system working.  Does it have a Mac like
interface?  There were no system disks and someone suggested that a System
6.05 for the Macintosh may work on the IIGS.  Would this be possible.  I had
a bare bones System 6.05 but nothing happens when the disk is inserted.  It
has no hard disk and I know it has at least 512K memory since a TestDrive
video game seems to work on it (the label says 512K required).  My friend
wants to get it running and get a word processor for it.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.
