It's not an accelerator, but rather a network card, Corvus Omninet to be
exact. The dipswitch is for determing a station ID of 0-127 in binary.
It's not of much use unless you've got an Omnidrive and several other cards/
computers you want to net. It also didn't support GS/OS at all. I had to
do some major hacking to ProDOS 16 back when I had one of those systems
running in order to get it to work with Omninet. It was alot of fun doing
that :)
Between that and another network setup I used later in the game called
ELAN (AROS III) I was able to run an Apple II BBS on one computer and
'maintain' it via another computer without having to take it down.
Trusty //e on the floor was the server. I wish I had the GS/OS stuff for
AROS III today. Appletalk in ProDOS 8 still bites even though it's faster
with ethernet :)
