The RamFast is definitely faster than the Apple HS. And it is still
being supported by its current developer - Sequential Systems.

The Apple HS, while no longer supported by Apple, is still being
supported by third parties. Sequential and Tulin have both written
software drivers for the Apple HS so that it can handle SCSI-2 CD-ROM
drives, NEC CD-ROM drives, and floptical drives. There are also
shareware writers who have written drivers.

I have a hard drive, SyQuest removable, floptical, and CD-ROM player
attached to my Apple HS.

One advantage of the Apple HS is that in GS/OS (there are many areas
where the RamFast has advantages over the Apple HS) it can have more
than 12 partitions active at anyone time. I think the limit is
something like 111 partitions over 7 devices. The most I have had up
and actually used is 16.
