Here are the relevant details. Note: the pin number diagrams are
looking at the BACK of the plug (or directly at the socket in the
computer).

IIc end (DIN-5 male) ImageWriter II end (Mini-Din-8 male)

5 1 8 7 6
 4 2 5 4 3
    3 2 1

1 DTR (flow out) 1 Handshake out 5 RxD-
2 TxD (data out) 2 Handshake in 6 TxD+
3 Ground 3 TxD- 7 not used
4 RxD (data in) 4 Ground 8 RxD+
5 DSR (flow in)

The cable pinout is as follows:

IIc ImageWriter II
 1 ------- 2
 2 ------- 5
 3 ------- 4 and 8
 4 ------- 3
 5 ------- 1

Note: the same cable can be used as a "null modem" cable between a IIc
and a IIgs or Macintosh.
