Actually, I'd wager that the most popular Macintosh communications
program is probably NCSA Telnet. Admittedly, it's a bit of a different
beast than a regular modem-based terminal emulator, but with fast
modems and SLIP/PPP connections increasing in prevalence...
I'm told SitComm is pretty nice too -- it supports Communications
Toolbox file transfer tools and can be scripted with any OSA-compliant
language like AppleScript or UserLand Frontier. If I were going to
spend some money on a Macintosh telecommunications package, I'd
certainly consider it as well as ProTerm.
