I just thought I'd let ya all know about a really cool must-have program 
for those of us who used to love playing with our old Apple IIe's and 
chose to (or were forced to) switch to an IBM PC compatible machine.  
It's called SimSystem IIe which can be ftp'ed from wilbur.stanford.edu 
from the directory /pub/emulators/apple2.  The filename is sim2e, it 
requires at least a '286 and CGA.  This emulator is the best I've found, 
it currently emulates an enhanced 128k Apple IIe, and it does the job SO 
well if you have VGA your display will be an exact DUPLICATE of an Apple 
IIe display, all graphics modes are supported!  It even supports 
MouseText characters!  The Apple IIe display is in a "window" towards the 
top left edge and on the right margin is the "disk drive" status on on 
the bottom are the F-key equivelents of Apple keys.  With my 15" monitor 
the little text "window" of Apple IIe output is EXACTLY the same in size 
and appearance to my Apple IIe w/12" monitor.  Joysticks and printers are 
currently supported although the serial port isn't supported (yet).  The 
only drawback is it's somewhat slow, you need at least a 20MHz '386 for 
everything to run as fast as a 1 MHz IIe though graphics are slow.  For 
IIe equivelent graphics speeds and faster-than-IIe computation speeds you 
need at least a '486SX-25, but the program seems to run fine (though 
slow) on my 386SX-16.  Another drawback is that it isn't able to pull 
little tricks to read/write Apple formatted 5.25" or 3.5" disks, you must 
make disk images.
