Write protect errors
I am getting "write protected" errors when I try to write to my 5.25 inch
drive, even though the disks are not (write protected). Reading disks off
that same drive is no problem.
This happens using AppleWorks or Copy II+ (v9) or various other programs. It
also only is happening on my IIgs with a 3.5 inch drive daisy chained in front
of the 5.25 inch drive. I can write to those same disks if a move to my IIc
with a different 5.25 inch drive. All volumes are ProDOS.
Does this sound like a hardware problem with the IIgs 5.25 inch drive? Or is
there some way I don't know of, to make a disk drive think everything is write
protected [kinda like the 5.25 thinks it is a CD-ROM drive :) ]?
