Yes, if your UNIX host has 'lynx' or 'www' installed. These are text
based WWW browsers. I have used lynx which is very easy to use. I have
no experience with www.

On a related note, there is a program for Windows PCs called SlipKnot.
This is a GUI front end to the WWW similar to Mosaic or Netscape but
can be used without a SLIP or PPP hookup. SlipKnot only requires a
connection to a host which runs LYNX or www on its end. It supposedly
runs as fast as a web browser with a SLIP connection!

COULD A SLIPKNOT-GS BE DEVELOPED?!?
