I have the 8 MHz Zip Chip in my primary //e (the 2nd has an AE TransWarp Card
while the 3rd only has a 65802). Once I got the Zip Chip socketed properly
I have not had a single problem with it (that could not be put down to its
inability to support DMA). I ended up getting a 40 pin socket and installing
it between the Zip and the motherboard. That way the motherboard socket is
not damaged by the Zip's thick pins and if I ever remove the Zip its pins are
protected as well.
