Try creating a "Custom printer"... I believe one of the options is
to send a linefeed at the end of each line. That may work. Try posting
to comp.sys.apple2 too.

Hmmm... my Canon BJ-10ex manual contained the escape sequences for
that particular printer (but I don't have it with me at the moment).
