Perhaps it has to do with the fact I tried this on a ROM 3 IIgs,
although I very much doubt it. The smartport firmware was updated I
believe, but it shouldn't affect a DuoDisk.
BTW, I've done the reverse and connected my platinum 5.25 drives
to the DuoDisk controller inside my Apple IIe's -- that worked just fine. :)
As far as I can tell, the DuoDisk controller is/was identical to the
UniDisk 5.25 (baige) controllers.
