Perhaps my Apple History is wrong, but weren't the Mac 400k drives incompatible w/ the Apple II series? I have a single sided copy of Appleworks here, which won't work on my 800k IIgs drive...It says it's for the IIe/IIc, using the duodisk. Anyone can use it? $3...
