Beatbox and Appletalk Quirk..

Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone out there in netland could
help me verify something concerning the latest release of beatbox...

On this release.... I had the opportunity to run it over and with
Appletalk active.... I know it says use at your own risk.... it means
it.... if it is setup the way it comes to you as an exe file....

Here is the quirk. On a lark I changed the file type from $B5 to $B3
of the beatbox file and left the runtime module alone... Essentially
this makes the file a GS/OS application instead of just and exe.....

I have Appletalk fully active from Finder and double click.... Voila
it comes up and warns me.... I trudge on. I load up a mod that is
on one of my Appleshare volumes and it plays it just fine..No crashes..

okay I close down...Launch GNO ... the real test... launch the beatbox
application version again and still everything works just fine no
crashes..!!!! Very cool.

But if I use the exe version AT ALL with Appletalk active the system hangs
and dies......

So what is so magical about changing the filetypes???? Really there shouldn't
be much of a difference performance wise I wouldn't think....

So if any of you run Appletalk or even BOOT your GS's off a Mac like do
2 of my three. Let me know if this minor modification works for you and
make sbeatbox stable under appletalk..... So far the results are
VERY repeatable...either I crash or I am running strong...
