Apropos of editor bugs, try this one (which has been reported to Mike):
lensman% edit file1 file2
Then option-1 to get to the second file. Put some text in it. Flip
to insert mode (OA-E) on the cursor if you're not already there.
Place the cursor on line 1, column 1. Hit [return]. <hang>. <three-
finger-salute>.
