Hey, just read the latest GS+, both Second Sight and TurboRez has ads in it!
Appearantly Reztek wanted to tell the world that it is still alive, and it
has a "superior" graphics card!
btw, I really like the TurboRez ads! It has following messages in it:
* <$250
* TurboRez GS - The Animation Machine
* Coming Soon...
* Brilliant Color AND Dynamic Full-Screen Animation on your IIGS
* Other products (why is it productS and not product?) focus mainly on
supporting very-high resolution SVGA-type monitors
* Emphasis is on high-speed, fluid animation for your multimedia application
needs
* High speed blitter
* Hardware line drawing
* Multiplane Technology
* Display List Coprocessor
* 7600+ colors
* Not slot specific
* Totally transparent
* Able to drive VGA monitor with a new adaptor!
Wow, this ads is really cool! It give me an impression that TurboRez is a
really more impressive product than Second Sight! (Does not mean it is, but
the impression is there) Note the way Reztek dress up TurboRez - animation,
colors, speed, etc, are all unmatched by Second Sight!
In my opinion, Reztek might actually wins if:
* Actually put in some colour images that uses 7600+ colors (maybe using the
same image to contrast with Second Sight 256 colors)
* Work with one of the programmer(s)/company on a TurboRez specified DOOM
like game. If there is a Wolf3D specified for TurboRez...
* Sell it at $200 or lesser. Second Sight it only $149, $250 is too high for
TurboRez.
* Release it about the same time range with Second Sight.
* Have more bundled software than Second Sight (I think it already done that -
let me think: a paint program (yes, it is cool), a GIF viewer, graphics
format converter, HyperStudio support).
Since I have seen TurboRez and was impressed, I hope it done well! Now lets
see, which should I buy? Second Sight or TurboRez? mmm...
Some hints for Second Sight to win the race:
* More colors! Even for future expansion only it is OK.
* More bundled software! A graphics viewer only is too limited.
* Release it before TurboRez.
Now GS world is fun again...
