There is (or used to be) a product for the Mac called "Power Key" (I think)
that is essentially a strip of switched AC outlets that you connect to the
keyboard via an ADB cable. By plugging your monitor and CPU into this strip,
you can then power up using the reset key. Power Key was intended for those
few Macs (such as the LC) that, like the GS, do not have the keyboard-power
function. I see no reason why it couldn't work with the GS, although I
remember it as being slightly expensive.
